R.I. state rep. joins CAP as 1st Legislative Squadron member

August 17, 2009

Chaplain (Lt. Col.) John A. Kearns (left), Rhode Island Wing chaplain, and Maj. Marianne Lamothe, the wing’s assistant personnel director, flank State Rep. Kenneth Carter after presenting him with his Civil Air Patrol membership card and certificate as the first member of the State Legislative Squadron. Kearns invited Carter, chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, to join CAP when the two men became acquainted while participating in the Rhode Island observance of Wreaths Across America in December.
