Airborne reconnaissance and delivery of imagery to varied customers is a critical function of CAP aircrews. Though it is not required that all images taken be uploaded into WMIRS on all missions, aircrews must upload photos as required in the mission and sortie authorization to WMIRS in a timely manner in the format desired. AFNORTH currently requires the following data on all mission photos taken:
- Date in Military format; Example: 03SEP08
- Time Over Target (TOT) in Zulu time; Example: 1030Z
- Location of the photo including the City and State, GPS Coordinates in the format of N000 00.0 W000 00.0 (NOT degrees, minutes, seconds), and a North arrow annotated
- Name of object imaged from the collection deck provided by AFNORTH when available; Example: Chalmette Refinery
NOTE: The above information including the North arrow annotation is added to photos automatically when photos are loaded properly into WMIRS.
Personnel should also consider using tools to assist in this process in the field. The most common is the CAP Image Processing Software available at: http://cap.ttar.org/imageprocessor/.
