How to Complete AFIADL Courses

Students can complete AFIADL courses at their own pace and study independently, or in a study group with other CAP members.  To maintain test security, study groups are limited to students currently enrolled in the course.  Students must complete the course within the prescribed time limit, which is generally one year.  See AFIADL's website for more information about time limits and extensions.

How to Request AFIADL Tests or Get Assistance

Upon completion of a course, students must use the AFIADL Customer Help Desk (https://www.auecampussupport.com/vdoc/index.jsp) to request a course exam. You can also use this same site to request a change of address, name correction, extend course completion date (maximum extension is 4 months), or request other assistance.

How AFIADL Announces Test Results
AFIADL grades all tests and mails test scores to the address provided on the AU 23 according to its published guidelines.  If the test is failed, AFIADL will automatically send another exam for a re-test to the wing headquarters, along with a post card to the address on the AU 23.  The post card will list the areas the student needs to study before retaking the end of course exam.

How to Record Course Completion
AFIADL will send the student a postcard, AFIADL Form 9, which is the official documentation of course completion.  The student must present the Form 9 to the Unit Test Control Officer, who will update the member’s CAP Form 45b, Senior Member Professional Development Record, or CAP Form 66, Cadet Master Record.

AFIADL does NOT notify HQ CAP of all course completions.  AFIADL sends a monthly completion report only for the CAP Senior Officer Course (00013) covering the previous month.  National Headquarters only records the CAP Senior Officer Course, Squadron Officer School , Air Command and Staff College , and Air War College in the data base at this time.  If one of these courses is not listed in the national database then please send a copy of your AFIADL Form 9 to the address, fax, or e-mail below, so the National Headquarters Registrar can update the record in the CAP national database:

How to Obtain Academic Credit
The American Council on Education (ACE) has reviewed a number of Air Force Career Development Courses (CDC) and recommended that college credit be awarded for some courses.  To determine if college credit is available for AFIADL courses which you have completed you must ask your college or university to consult the "ACE Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services," and also have them review your AFIADL transcript to determine if credit can be awarded.

CAP & AFIADL in the Future
Both AFIADL and CAP are moving forward in web-based e-learning venues.  Most of AFIADL's content is moving towards electronic only delivery. Watch this website for the latest updates about the CAP/AFIADL partnership.

Best wishes as you begin your professional development through AFIADL!
