Wing Level Leadership. |
1. Obtain a senior rating in a specialty track. Successful completion of the senior rating in a specialty track results in award of the Bronze Star for the Leadership Award ribbon (CAPR 39-3). Request authorization on CAPF 2a. Include in Block VII the name of award achievement, date unit commander approved senior rating, and the specialty track number. The unit Professional Development Officer signs as the requester. The unit commander holds approval authority. The member may then purchase the ribbon bronze star device from Vanguard
2. Attend two wing, region, or national conferences. These conferences afford CAP members a broad view of the CAP corporation’s organization and expose them to the issues confronting CAP. Attendance at a region/wing aerospace education conference can also be credited for one conference attendance. Conferences attended prior to entry into Level III count toward fulfillment of this requirement.
3. The Corporate Learning Course (CLC) discusses the relationship the CAP squadron has with the next major echelon of command -- the wing. Specifically, CLC discusses how wing-level operations help to accomplish CAP's three missions of aerospace education, emergency services, and cadet programs. It describes the working relationships wing staff officers have with each other, and their squadron level counterparts.
4. Earn the Brig General Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager Award. This requirement is effective 31 March 2013. This award recognizes successful completion of the Yeager test portion of the Aerospace Education Program for Senior Members (AEPSM). The test may be completed online and the member’s record will automatically be updated reflecting completion of the AEPSM. If the online process is not used, the wing/region director of aerospace education certifies completion of the AEPSM on a CAP Form 127, Monthly Certification Report, and forwards it to NHQ/DPR. The Yeager test is based on the Aerospace: Journey of Flight 2nd edition which can be found on eservices under "AE Download and Resources". The Yeager test can be found on the Learning Management System (LMS) in eServices.
As with Squadron Leadership School, CLC is administered at the group or wing level and lasts from 12-16 classroom hours.
