Level III: Management
| Welcome to Level III ! Now that you've compled Level II, you are prepared for Level III.
To complete this level and earn the Grover Loening Award and the Loening ribbon, you will become senior rated in a specialty track, attend two major conferences, serve in a staff or command assignment for at least one year, and complete the Corporate Learning Course. See CAPR 50-17 for details on these requirements. Should you have any questions about what you are leaning in level one please do not hesitate to talk to your mentor, unit Professional Development Officer, or unit Commander. |

Level III you earn the Loening Ribbon

1. Obtain a senior rating in a specialty track. Successful completion of the senior rating in a specialty track results in award of the Bronze Star for the Leadership Award ribbon (CAPR 39-3). Request authorization on CAPF 2a. Include in Block VII the name of award achievement, date unit commander approved senior rating, and the specialty track number. The unit Professional Development Officer signs as the requester. The unit commander holds approval authority. The member may then purchase the ribbon bronze star device from Vanguard
2. Attend two wing, region, or national conferences. These conferences afford CAP members a broad view of the CAP corporation’s organization and expose them to the issues confronting CAP. The National Conference on Aviation and Space Education and a region/wing aerospace education conference are credited as conferences. Conferences attended prior to entry into Level III count toward fulfillment of this requirement.
3. The Corporate Learning Course (CLC) discusses the relationship the CAP squadron has with the next major echelon of command -- the wing. Specifically, CLC discusses how wing-level operations help to accomplish CAP's three missions of aerospace education, emergency services, and cadet programs. It describes the working relationships wing staff officers have with each other, and their squadron level counterparts.
As with Squadron Leadership School, CLC is administered at the group or wing level and lasts from 12 - 16 classroom hours.
