Job Performance Support
The CAP Knowledgebase includes a Job Performance Support (JPS) feature to help members more easily find the information they need to do their specific CAP jobs. The number of answers range from a few answers for certain specialties to over 300 answers related to the cadet programs officer.
Knowledgebase categories were initially created to align with the organization of CAP headquarters. This helped organize answers into meaningful groupings which could be addressed by a subject matter expert (SME) at headquarters. These divisions have worked well, but at times these categories have been hard for members to decipher, especially new members.
Adding a JPS feature to categorize knowledgebase answers which apply to a specific job helps members easily locate answers they need from the hundreds of answers available. For example, on the knowledgebase answers page scroll down the category listing to find Job Performance Support and then view the sub-categories listed. If you are looking for answers that relate to your job as personnel officer for example, click on the sub-category for personnel officer. Leave the search by keyword block blank and click on the search button. The knowledgebase will display answers (currently over 290) that apply to the personnel officer. Note that some answers are related to more than one CAP specialty.
You can also access all the answers under a specific Job Performance Support Category by clicking on the JPS category on the left side of the answers page. For example clicking on "personnel officer" under Job Performance Support yields almost 300 answers related to the personnel officer.
