THE CIVIL AIR PATROL INSPECTOR GENERAL SENIOR LEVEL TRAINING
A Civil Air Patrol Inspector General Senior Level Training Course is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 8-9 October 2011. The training is scheduled in conjunction with the Great Lakes Region Professional Development Weekend at the Defense Supply Center, in Columbus, OH. Non-commuting students should plan to arrive on Friday 7 October. Sign-in will be Saturday morning at 0730 at the class site. Classes will be all day Saturday and will be released by 1700 on Sunday. This is a DoD facility with strict security. Your name must be on the gate asscess list prior to your arrival for you to get on the grounds. Additionally, you will be required to obtain a vehicle pass the first time you enter the Center. Please allow enough time on Saturday morning to get the pass and still arrive at the class on time (other Professional Development Weekend students will be arriving at the same time as you).
Cost: There will be a $10 charge associated with this course for.
Billeting is not available at the Supply Center. Students are responsible for making their own reservations. Hotels in the area include:

Directions: The Defense Supply Center is located on the north side of Broad Street approximately 2.5 miles west of exit 39 from I-270 (East Broad street exit). The Center's main gate is located at 3900 East Broad Street (next to the Bob Evans Resturant). Once on the Center grounds, park in the lot on the south (East Broad Street) side of Bldg 20 and enter through the enter doors.
Student Requirements:
Space is limited. All applicants must be current members of Civil Air Patrol. Applications will be accepted in the following priority:
- Applicants assigned as Wing or Region Inspectors General or assistants.
- Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Commanders
- Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Vice-Commanders or Chiefs of Staff.
- Applicants assigned as Legal Officers.
- Other interested members with the approval of the CAP/IGT.
- Other interested members of Great Lakes Region will have priority over those from other regions.
Uniform Requirements:
AF blue shirt with or without a tie, CAP aviator shirt with or without a tie or the dark blue golf shirt may be worn in accordance with CAPM 39-1. BDUs and flight suits will not be worn.
Laptop computers are encouraged, but not required.
Application Procedures: Those wishing to attend this course should send an e-mail, no later than 20 September, to Wayne.Shanks@ohwg.cap.gov. The e-mail must contain 1) Name, 2) Grade, 3) CAPID #, 4) assigned wing, 5) assigned group (if applicable), 6) unit charter #, 7) current duty assignment and 8) highest level of IG training previously completed.
Each student must mail, to be received no later than 24 September, a completed CAPF 17, signed by his/her commander, along with a check for $10 to:
