THE CIVIL AIR PATROL INSPECTOR GENERAL SENIOR LEVEL TRAINING


A Civil Air Patrol Inspector General Senior Level Training Course is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 24-25 April 2010.  The training is scheduled for the Great Lakes Naval Training Center building 158, in Chicago, IL.  Non-comuting students should plan to arrive on Friday, 23 April.  Sign-in will be Saturday morning at 0730 at the class site.  Classes will be all day Saturday and will be released by 1700 on Sunday..


Cost:
There will be no fee associated with this course.


Billeting:  Space Available billeting can be reserved on-line at http://dodlodging.net or by calling (877() 628-9233.  Remember that Space Available billeting can be usurped should a military need come up.

A special rate of $79.00/night has also been negotiated with the Hampton Inn-Gurnee, IL.  This hotel is 8 miles from the Training Center, but has a free breakfast.  CAP vans will provide transportation between the hotel and the class site.  Reservations can be made by calling (847) 662-1100.  Please be sure to mention that you are with the Civil Air Patrol.  The hotel is located at 5550 Grand Avenue; Gurnee, IL  60031.


Directions:
For those coming directly to the course on Saturday morning, use the Buckley Road (IL 137) exit from I-94 on the north side of Chicago.  Go east on Buckley Road to the end (Buckley passes under Sheridan Road and then makes a 180 degree turn to the left into Sheridan Road).  Turn right (north) on Sheridan Road.  The main gate will be on your right.  At the gate, go into Pass and ID and get a vehicle pass.  They will also provide a map to Bldg 158 if you request one.

The hotel is at I-94 and Grand Avenue (IL 132), which is the 4th exit north of the Buckley Road exit.



Student Requirements:
Space is limited.  All applicants must be current members of Civil Air Patrol.  Applications will be accepted in the following priority:

  1. Applicants assigned as Wing or Region Inspectors General or assistants.
  2. Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Commanders
  3. Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Vice-Commanders or Chiefs of Staff.
  4. Applicants assigned as Legal Officers.
  5. Other interested members with the approval of the CAP/IGT.
  6. Members of Great Lakes Region will have priority over all others.

Uniform Requirements:
AF blue shirt with or without a tie or CAP aviator shirt with or without a tie worn in accordance with CAPM 39-1.  Laptop computers are encouraged, but not required.
