THE CIVIL AIR PATROL INSPECTOR GENERAL SENIOR LEVEL TRAINING


A Civil Air Patrol Inspector General Senior Level Training Course is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 2-3 October 2010.  The training is scheduled for the Pennsylvania Wing HQ on Fort Indiantown Gap, northwest of Jonestown, PA.  Non-commuting students should plan to arrive on Friday, 1 October.  Sign-in will be Saturday morning at 0730 at the class site.  Classes will be all day Saturday and will be released by 1700 on Sunday.


Cost:  There will be a $20 charge associated with this course payable in cash at sign-in.  A receipt will be provided.  A light breakfast, snacks, refreshments and lunch will be provided both days.


Billeting:  The following is a list of hotels in the Fort Indiantown Gap area.  All are about 2 miles from the PAWg HQ, except the Comfort Suites, which is about 12 miles from the HQ.  Most of them will give CAP the $60/night military rate.

Directions:  The post is accessed from exit 90 of I-81.  Go west on Fisher Avenue for less than 2 miles.  The PAWg HQ is on the left just after you pass the huge Fort Indiantown Gap sign.  There is no requirement to show ID to enter the post as far as the PAWg HQ.  The HQ building is #3-108. 


Student Requirements:
  Space is limited.  All applicants must be current members of Civil Air Patrol.  Applications will be accepted in the following priority:

  1. Applicants assigned as Wing or Region Inspectors General or assistants.
  2. Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Commanders
  3. Applicants assigned as Group, Wing or Region Vice-Commanders or Chiefs of Staff.
  4. Applicants assigned as Legal Officers.
  5. Other interested members with the approval of the CAP/IGT.
  6. Members of Northeast Region will have priority over all others.


Uniform Requirements:
AF blue shirt with or without a tie or CAP aviator shirt with or without a tie or dark blue golf shirt worn in accordance with CAPM 39-1.  Laptop computers are encouraged, but not required.  Most students find them very helpful during the course.
