The goal of the cadet physical fitness program is to make cadets physically fit and to motivate them to develop a lifelong habit of exercising regularly.
- The first method to achieve this goal is to have the units create a fitness program.
- The second method is testing the cadets using the Cadet Physical Fitness Test (CPFT).
Video Demonstrations
The Coral Springs Cadet Squadron from Florida Wing created the following videos on how to conduct the CPFT.
Safety Guidelines for the Shuttle Run
This is a review of the guidlines for the Shuttle Run. Please pay close attention to these guidelines when administering the CPFT.
AWARDS

* An important issue about the CPFT needs to be clarified in the procedures to retest a cadet. The wording “When retesting, all events required for their physical fitness category must be completed and passed” means that the cadet cannot bank the events he might have passed the first time the cadet took the test. The cadet must test the entire test over again. This does not add any additional requirement that they would now need to pass all 5 sections of the CPFT.
