AFA

Partners for the Future

For many years, the Air Force Association has recognized the significant aerospace contributions of Civil Air Patrol to our nation.  In an effort to demonstrate the esteem AFA holds for the work CAP members accomplish throughout our country, the AFA provides grants and awards for our adult and youth members.  Each partnership program is explained in the bold link for each area below.

Þ    AFA’S NATIONAL CAP AEROSPACE EDUCATION CADET OF THE YEAR AWARD

Þ    AFA’S CAP UNIT OUTSTANDING CADET OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION

Þ    AFA’s CAP UNIT AE GRANT

Þ    AFA’S CAP  TEACHER MEMBER AE GRANT

To provide reciprocal assistance to the AFA, CAP adult and cadet members are encouraged to join their local AFA Chapter.  For local chapter locations and membership information, click  JOIN AFA.

AFA’s AE mission mirrors that of CAP.  Both organizations promote aerospace to the general public in an effort to prepare for future national security of America.  Thus, in an effort to assist AFA in fulfilling its AE mission, and in deep appreciation to AFA for all the support given to CAP members, CAP also provides the following opportunities to AFA chapters:

Ø     Free Aerospace Education Membership for each AFA Chapter and State Teacher of the Year

Ø     One-half price AE membership for any teacher a chapter would like to sponsor

This teacher membership opportunity provides an easy and inexpensive way for AFA Chapters to share aerospace education to the public.  With CAP AE membership, teachers are provided free resources and benefits: over 20 national academic standards-based aerospace education products, to include a full color 675-page hard cover aerospace textbook; grants and awards programs; and teacher orientation flights.  For full information about this teacher benefit program for AFA-sponsored teachers, click AFA SPONSORED CAP TEACHER MEMBERSHIP AND PROGRAMS.
